Jimmy Howard is a lifelong native of North Carolina, having lived in Reidsville, Cary, Laurinburg and Charlotte before becoming a Huntersville resident. He is a product of Trinity UMC having been sent out into the ministry from this church as a second-career pastor in 1993. His prior appointments include: Associate Pastor of Trinity UMC, a cross-racial church plant at Native American UMC, eleven years as pastor of Zoar UMC and thirteen years as pastor of Asbury UMC.
Jimmy has a Master of Divinity Degree from Erskine Theological Seminary and is an Elder in Full Connection with the Western North Carolina Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. His passions include his wife Cheryl and his family, which includes two children, an awesome son-in-law and three grandchildren, with a fourth on the way. Also, scuba diving and motorcycle riding are passionate hobbies.
Mrs. Ronna G. Privette, Administrative Assistant
Ronna was born and raised in the Long Creek/ Coulwood communities, and currently lives in Stanley, North Carolina. She graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in 1972 and attended Central Piedmont Community College. She and her husband Wayne were married in the summer of 1972 and have 2 daughters. Her current hobby is her grandchildren, Addison and Griffin. Ronna is a life long member of Trinity United Methodist Church and has worked as the secretary of Trinity since 1981. Mrs. Cindy Hough, Treasurer
Cindy was born in Huntersville, NC and continues to live there today in her grandparents' home she remodeled in 2007. She graduated from North Mecklenburg High School and UNC at Charlotte. Cindy is a risk consultant at Wells Fargo in Charlotte. She, and her family, are life long members of Trinity. Cindy lives with her husband, Jimmy, and two furry boys Luckie and Roodie.
Mrs. Cheryl Howard, Choir Director
Cheryl was born and raised in Fayetteville, NC. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. Cheryl and her husband, Jimmy Howard, were married in July 1976 and moved to Charlotte. They joined Trinity United Methodist Church in January 1977. Cheryl and Jimmy are blessed to have two children, Cory and Holly, one son-in-law, Shea Hartsell, and three beautiful grandchildren with the fourth on the way! Jimmy accepted the call into the ministry in 1993 and pastored the Native American Indian Church, Zoar UMC, Asbury UMC, and is now serving Trinity UMC! Cheryl taught Elementary School in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School District from 1976 - 2004. She became the pianist for Trinity in 1977 and served in that position until 2002. She is now seen every Sunday morning serving as the Organist and Choir Director since 2003. Cheryl is always busy at Trinity Church, currently serving on several committees. She is also a Certified Lay Speaker for the United Methodist Church and a District Lay Delegate to Annual Conference.
Mrs. Shelly Black, Preschool Director
Shelly was born and raised just around the corner from Trinity UMC! She currently resides in the same area with her husband, Daniel, and her two children, Abby and Jake. She has been a member of Trinity UMC since 2000, and can be found each Sunday singing with the Praise Team at the Rise-Up Service or helping lead acolytes at the Traditions Service. Trinity UMC Preschool's curriculum is designed to meet the needs of each individual child enrolled. Our philosophy is based on the belief of our Founder, Claudia Myers, that "Play is the Work of a Child".
